God's Discipline

PSA 94:12-13 NIV
Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord , the one you teach from your law; you grant them relief from days of trouble, till a pit is dug for the wicked.

Fundamental words. Atimes, we confuse love in the light of discipline. We see discipline as a negative issue, rather than a medium through which purpose is given direction. Discipline is a product of love, and without it, our lives would probably lack the order, direction and effect it was created to have.

Why and how does God discipline us? First of all, it is his children that He disciplines. As we claim to know Christ, that knowledge will be tested through the experiences He brings our way. As He trains us, we grow in our knowledge of him.

It is his Word that is also the medium of discipline. In his Word are instructions for everyday life. There's no situation that has no answer in the word and we would only be better for it when we allow It's principles to guide and guard our thoughts, actions and words.

The benefits of discipline are worth it eventually. The blessings of God are better appreciated in a life that God has prepared through discipline. That is why a man can so physically wealthy, yet so open to giving out, because He has understood God's ways and knows that all He holds and owns are all from God.
