Change Residence 2

I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psalms 91:1‭-‬2 KJV

Today's extract  flows from our thoughts from 5 days ago, where the verse before this was discussed. Talk is cheap; anyone can say anything, anytime. However, what you do on the day of visitation is what defines you. The Most High has offered his secret place and the Almighty his shadow as places of refuge and protection. This offer stands for as many as would come seeking and searching.

The Psalmist here responds to God's invitation. He confesses that God is the only one who offers true protection and refuge, and in Him alone will he trust. These are words that come easy to all of us when things are smooth and our principles are untested. When all we need are provided and it appears that we are coasting through life, it is easy to say God is the only one for us. However, one truth i have learnt is this: the strongest confidence is forged from the furnace of trials. The 3 Hebrew men probably never experienced God like that before, until they dared Nebuchadnezzar and stood with God. From their confession, it didn't make a difference if God decided NOT to save them; they had signed over their lives to God, and they were going to trust his wisdom, timing and work in and through them.

That is the only option. When you have choices, you will always compromise. When you know you are stuck with God, and you have made him the one and only option, you will view your trials and experiences in a different light. So, what do you say? Is God your refuge and fortress or have you found other options running side by side with God? Are you trusting ONLY in God or you also have several exit strategies lined up, just in case God fails? Speaking is easy; your word-confession must line up with your life-profession. His time of favour is here.
