Walking Right!

He hides away sound and godly Wisdom and stores it for the righteous (those who are upright and in right standing with Him); He is a shield to those who walk uprightly and in integrity, That He may guard the paths of justice; yes, He preserves the way of His saints. Proverbs 2:7-‬8 AMPC

When dealing with God, I cannot come to him first with a sense of entitlement. It is first a function of relationship, then entitlement. What I read here today is that in God are hidden the deep treasures of wisdom and only in and through Him are the treasures unleashed. You can read all the books on  earth and attend the best schools;  there is no guarantee you will be any better then. What I must focus in and expend my energy on must be a diligent search for God, and the treasures being in Him gives.

God hides away wisdom because not everyone can handle it. Know this: Jesus is called the Wisdom and Power of God, so that should tell you something. He stores it up for those who have made him their Lord and Master, who have surrendered control to Him. He protects all who come to him, and deals with them justly. Let me quickly add that what I may call 'justice' may not be God's idea of justice, but I must learn to let go and let God work as he pleases.

When things happen that I don't understand, can I trust that God knows what he's doing? Even when life is lost without warning, do I come away fully assured that God is still in control? I can only imagine how Stephen, a man filled with the Holy Spirit, must have felt when men rejected and stoned him, yet God was there, fully aware and fully in control. Where was the sense of justice when John the Baptist was beheaded like a common criminal? You read these things and you just must know that God does not let go, no matter what gets hold of us.

When I am in his hands, I am NOT promised protection FROM, but IN trials. He promises to preserve my ways, and how he does that is his prerogative, and if I do not accept his wisdom, then I claim I know better. Unless and until I can trust his wisdom and timing, I am not ready for his dealings.

Please note the people covered: the Righteous. It is not the rich, the connected, the high and mighty, but just the righteous. Am I one? Do my hopes, dreams, expectations and life depend solely on God or do I have 'viable' options? Your answer will determine your entitlement. His time of favour is here.
