Light
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Genesis 1:3 KJV
The first thing on record that God spoke to existence was something of Himself; his nature, his power, his might: LIGHT. At the time, there was the reality of darkness, confusion, and emptiness, but then God spoke light into existence. By that light, all things became seen. Light would not have made sense if there was no darkness, and light becomes a precious thing when you have seen the damage and destruction that darkness can bring.
It also means that if my life will enjoy all that has been put in it, I must first find God. His light must shine into my life so that it can then flow out of my life. If I don't have it, I can't fake it. If it is not in there, I cannot make a close copy. This light is one thing that the world cannot fake or prevent. It has been commanded into existence by God; I can limit its operation in my own life, but I cannot limit its operations in the lives and hearts of men on earth.
Other things followed: the firmament, sea creatures, land animals, and man. By the operation of that light, and after all had been made, God looked and saw that all He had made was very good. That was the verdict of God, in the light of all that He had made. Of course, what else could a good God produce? Until sin came, and man made a choice, all that God made was all good. The question then is: what am I doing to promote that which God is? Am I a promoter or do I seek to prevent the light of God from shining around me? Does God know who I am and what I promote?
Can all that I am engaged in now stand the test of the light of God? Am I willing to subject all I am and do to the Light of God before whom there is no secret? We seem to think that the world's secret things also apply to the things of God. Men have secret bank accounts, secret marriages and families, and join what the world calls secret cults, and we make the mistake of assuming that God is also deceived along with the rest of humankind. Let it be known that the God of Light is One who cannot be deceived. All things, including the secret motives of men, are laid bare before Him. He is the One before whom the whole world is coming for judgment, and you can be sure He is a judge for whom bribes, hypocrisy and eye-service will not sway.
Today, let it be known that with God, there are no secrets. He is the God of Light before whom ALL things are laid bare. He wants to shine in me because my daily life is the loudest testimony to God's power and glory. How else will the world know God if I, as his representative, do not show Him off? How does the world know my allegiance if I am fully blended into the darkness of the world? God is Light, He is shinning out with his glory, and he wants me to show this off? Would I let Him? Would you? His time of favour is today.
