Tell God!

Tell God!

Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. Philippians 4:6 AMP

The Context and Focus:
In a world that is constantly in turmoil and trouble, today's verse is for us. Unfortunately, the message is for those who have know and have totally submitted to God as the final authority over their lives. Of what use is the head knowledge of who God is, if I cannot trust him to do all He has promised? Of what use is reading about God, seeing and learning about the mighty things he had done and still doing, if I will not trust and depend on Him to also sort me out? Of what use is it to have a God and not go to Him often and regularly, seeking His face for everything that concerns me? God is not like man who is limited by ability, capacity and capability, and cannot do anything for you beyond his own present reality. Man can make promises, but you have to be aware that he can fail, because he cannot control the impact of time. Man can make promises, but it is still God alone who can give power to that man to be able to fulfil that promise.

The Message:
This is the God that Paul and Timothy would have us know and follow today. For both men, they had been through a lot. Just before this chapter, Paul had taken time to lay down the things that would have made him special in the eyes of mortal men. He had physical achievements, but he had come to know that there was a greater achievement, and this was to know God and to be thoroughly acquainted with Him. There is no higher call or a greater experience than to know God. God also wants to draw near to me, and He is always there, just waiting for me to make the approach. It is a waste of time to worry or fret about anything, if you would not go to God with them. Of what use is having a Father you would not speak to or relate with, unless there is an emergency? Should you wait until there is a problem before you approach your Father and Lord? Paul knew this God, and he made a daily and regular approach to God a lifestyle. What decision do I also need to make right now?

The Conclusion:
Be anxious about nothing, and pray about everything. We have a God who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we can ask or imagine. Anxiety does not leave room for anything or anyone else, because it completey fills up any space it is allowed in. You worry about things you cannot control and influence, forgetting that you have a father who owns and holds all things in His hands, and He wants to give you all that you ask for. It is by prayer that I come to the total surrender and submission to the will of God. I come to know that I have his backing, and even if he tells me NO as an answer, or WAIT for a season, it will not matter because I have known God as a Father who cares for me, and like a pharmacist, he will apply the medicine I need for perfect health in the dosage and frequency that will lead to perfection. Just pray, and thank God for his love. He will sort out all that concerns me. Would I also love Him in return? God's time of favour is here.
