Surrendered!

Surrendered!

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:15‬ ‭AMP‬‬
Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].

The word 'Let' or allow shows the power and impact of freewill. God will not go against the exercise of my freewill, but He has a way to use even my stubbornness or cooperation to achieve his own purpose. In order to properly exercise my freewill, God gives me all the information I need in order to make the right decision. This is why man cannot claim helplessness, or blame anyone else for the consequences of his/her decisions. If what I need is inner calm, there is only one source for it. I could listen to the lie of the devil, or I could heed the voice of the Spirit. Whichever way I flow, there are both earthly and eternal consequences. If I allow the peace of Christ be the controlling factor in my life, then I have access to all that Jesus secured for me by way of the cross. What kind of information am I exposing my eyes, ears and heart to? Whatever I allow will definitely make and leave a mark on my life.

Of course, as I am not taken to heaven as soon as I am saved, I am left on earth to make the life of Christ in me attractive to other people. I am placed in a family, church, community and nation, so I can extend the same grace I have received to other people. How can a man give what he does not have? How can I promote the policies, principles, practices, procedures and processes of a kingdom I do not submit to or recognize? When the inner man is at peace, it impacts the outer. The key words to having this inner peace are 'one who walks daily with Him'. It cannot be a weekly, monthly or annual affair, but one that thrives on daily check in. The grace supplied yesterday is sufficient for that day, but I need fresh supply for the challenges of today. Of course, a surrendered heart is a thankful heart. It knows who is responsible for its peace, and will do all that is possible to retain and maintain that peace. Have you truly surrendered? God's time of favour is here.
