Guided!

Guided!

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭25:5‬ ‭AMPC‬‬
Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all the day long.

This is a psalm of David, a man after God's heart. He knew how to hold God's attention, because he understood that God needs a heart that seeks after him at all times. I may not always get it right, but let there be no doubt as to the confidence I have in God. That confidence must permeate everything I do. For David, his desire was to know more of God, and this was to be a daily pursuit. It must not be a weekly, monthly or annual affair, where I only go in when there is trouble, or I need help with something. I must seek God on a daily basis, knowing that yesterday's supply is not sufficient for today's challenges. Whatever worked well yesterday is not guaranteed to work today, so I must seek and find God for myself. Can I say that I know God? Can God also confirm that I am His own?

The prayer is the verse above is instructive for our present generation. I need God's version of truth in order to survive the storms that are coming. I need God's guidance and leading for the uncertainties that surround me daily. I need to be taught the ways of God, so I can pattern my life's actions and decisions in line with the lessons learnt. No matter what the times today say, God is in control. No matter how many things are not working, God's plan and purpose cannot be thwarted. Therefore, I wait on the Lord. I cannot afford to hurry ahead of God. There is a standing promise by God that those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength. I cannot combine God with anything or anyone else. I cannot serve both God and the devil. The decison on who to follow and submit to has to be made today. God's time of favour is here.
