The Power of Two Part 1!

The Power of Two Part 1!

Ecclesiastes 4:9 KJV
[9] Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

We read about the wise words of the som of David, who calls himself the Preacher. There are quite a number of deep and wise sayings in the book of Ecclesiastes, and the above is one of them. It has to be noted that God also recognzes the power of unity. There are several verses in the bible that lay emphasis on the power behind 2 or more. Right at the Gardem of Eden where God placed mam, He blessed and commanded him to be fruitful and to multiply. Just a few years after the account of creation, we also see men gathering together to build a tower reaching up to heaven. If God had not come down to confuse their language, God conceded that the project would have succeeded simply because of the unity of the people. God said that as the people is one, and they have all one language; nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. This is the power behind joint effort or concerted applied pressure.

I am yet to see a project initiated and successfully completed by one person from start to finish, without any form of help or contribution by anyone else. God, who is awesome in power, does not also do everything He seeks to do by Himself, but He brings us into His will, so we can search and discover His purpose for our lives, and we can focus on and pursue His purpose, with His help, leading and guidance. This has both physical and spiritual implications. Think of any great project impacting lives, and you will find investments by people from all walks of life. No man can physically be in 2 places at once, and that is why there is power in agreement. Even for the natural order of life and how it begins, no human life can be formed without an agreement of two separate contributors.

God has also been quite wise to then place that human life in the midst of a family, community, society and nation, which then becomes the right context in which man's contributions can best be made. As we work together to achieve something, there is a joy that comes from knowing that you are a part of the success story. Think about God saying it was not good for man to be alone. Two would always be better than one, when the motive and the pursuit are God-focused. There is also power in evil agreements and conspiracies, but as children of God, we know that God is looking for people He can entrust divine assignments to. I need to take stock of my life today, and determine whether God can bless whatever my joint efforts and pursuits are. Can I say, with every confidence, that a good reward lies at the end of my current labour? Remember, God will only bless and sustain that which He ordains. Make sure you are linked with the right people, and pursuing that which is the right result. God's time of favour is here.
