In His Name!

In His Nane!

Matthew 18:20 AMPC
[20] For wherever two or three are gathered (drawn together as My followers) in (into) My name, there I AM in the midst of them.

As we have seen over the past few days, a daily walk with God is critical to the revelation of His mind. You will not get any idea of who God is, what He wants, what He is able to do or give, or His demands from you unless and until you walk with Him on a daily basis. He wants to show Himself strong in the lives of men, because that would be a witness that men can relate to. They can see the hand of God on a man's life; they know his past, and can see a change in the present. That is just a window into the awesome possibilities that are available for a man who walks with God. It is not a wonder, then, that Jesus took time to teach His disciples several parables about the kingdom of God. One interesting one in the same chapter from which the verse above is taken is the parable of the lost sheep. No matter how far away a sheep wanders, the shepherd's heart will always seek it out. It does not matter if the sheep 'deserves to get lost'; the shepherd will not let it go without a fight.

That is the benefit and blessing we have access to, when God is the One who is on the lookout for us. He wants us to succeed, and that is why His presence is the most crucial factor in any endeavour. Do not dare start a project without His backing and blessing. Do not dare take on an assignment outside of His authority and leadership. God will not bless that which does not glorify Him, and He will not excuse or condone sin, no matter in whom it is found. He will not be present and His glory will not be made manifest in a place where His name is not given the recognition it duly deserves. This is the crux of the verse above. Numbers are not as important as the reasons why they gather, and quantity is not always more important than quality. We have been distracted by quantity, because we have been taught that the majority is always right. In spiritual matters, the view of the majority is not as weighty as the view of the God whose judgment is without fear or favour. Have you met this God? He wants to meet with you. God's time of favour is here.
