Psalm 91:1 AMPC

[1] HE WHO dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty [Whose power no foe can withstand].

As always, there is a choice to be made on where to live. There are only two choices: one with God and the other with the devil. There is no fence to straddle between the two options and claiming not to make a decision is itself a decision. The world we live in today is quite complex and no one can successfully navigate it without some help. The challenge, as always, is when we seek help from the wrong source. Once the source is wrong, the output will always be wrong, no matter how hard you try to package it or explain it away. If the output must be right, I must take extra care to ensure that the focus, environment and the pursuit are all right. It is in my careful preparation that I must consider who God is, what He offers, and what I stand to get as the eternal benefits of it all. If I do this right, it will not matter who the devil is, and what threats he is able to muster. That which God is and has must be my sole focus. 

That is the start point of the verse above. God has a secret place He dwells, and it is by careful and deliberate search that a man finds it. You do not stumble upon it by accident, but by careful consideration. It does not jump on you by manipulation, but by making deliberate choices to seek God out. For he who chooses to dwell in that secret place, he has access to deep mysteries that are not naturally available to other people. You do not cast your precious pearls before swine. You do not make public your most private possessions. If that is the way of the world, imagine how this impacts the way God deals with His own. This is why God deals more with His children in secret, away from the public eye. Check out the men and women God used in the Bible; not much is known of them before they were announced to the world, but once the world knew and heard them, it could not ignore them. Same God, same application; different generations:

God is still seeking to show Himself strong in the lives of men and women who are fully committed to Him. In a world that is now increasingly becoming broken, unpredictable and terrible, God reaches out to all of us. He wants us to surrender to Him and follow Him. He knows that the world is not safe, no matter how hard the world tries to sell its ideals of safety through physical measures and force. You cannot give what you do not have; the world that is not safe cannot be trusted to also guarantee safety for anyone. The one who God keeps safe is the one who is truly stable and fixed. The one who God keeps is the one who is under the shadow of the Almighty God. It means you are never outside His cover and protection. There is nothing in this world that can snatch you away from the hand of the Almighty God. There is no foe who can withstand the power of God. Who else can guarantee you these? God waits for my decision. What would it be? God's time of favour is here.
