Covered!

Covered!

For the earth shall be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, as the waters cover the sea.
Habakkuk 2:14 KJV

Context and Charge:
Habakkuk had spent some time asking God about his nature, power and idea of justice. He had wondered why God seemed to acquit the guilty and condemn the innocent. He also wondered why God would use a nation more wicked than Israel to punish his people. Maybe God's responses were not what Habakkuk was expecting, but it was evident that Habakkuk came to the conclusion that God is sovereign and does what He pleases whenever He pleases. That conclusion must be my final position too, if I will see and experience God for who He is.

For all of us on earth, we have to proceed with the clear and undeniable knowledge of God's power and might. I note that my view or agreement is not required for God's glory to fill the earth. The operative word here is SHALL. It leaves no room for debate; actually, I can choose to accept or reject God's position, but my decision has no impact on who God is or what He can do. A frank review of the world as it is now shows that though evil abounds, the knowledge of God also abounds. God created the earth, and it must definitely answer to its maker.

Contention and Conclusion:
In places where you would wonder whether God exists, God is raising an army of people who know and celebrate Him. It's not just in places that are convenient, but everywhere on the earth. As long as I carry the presence and power of God, I am a representative of this God. Just as waters cover the sea, which is the right place for water, and the right contents for seas, so also is the knowledge of God the right content and composition for the earth.

The question then is: am I a worthy representative of this God? Can He trust me with the deposits of His power and grace? Have I first submitted my life to the person, power and presence of this God? I can only push and promote that which is a  personal experience to me. It was God's plan to restrict the seas to its place; in the same way, if He says His glory will fill the earth, I do not see any person or power that can resist Him. This is the God who calls me to Himself; on whose side would I rather be? God's time of favour is here.
