Luke 1:35 AMP

[35] Then the angel replied to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you [like a cloud]; for that reason the holy (pure, sinless) Child shall be called the Son of God.

As we celebrate the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus, we are reminded of the parties and events that surrounded His birth. God the Father was involved every step of the way, but there had to be human lives that would be ready and available for His use. God is the Almighty Father, and He can do whatever He wants to get done by any means whatsoever,  but it is an awesome privilege for us, as mortal human beings, to be found as vessels He can use for His purpose. This is why we do not take the grace of God for granted, or think that we can somehow earn whatever we get from God by good behavior. There was this virgin girl who had kept herself pure; consider the impact the news of her pregnancy would have had on her. In fact, the one she was betrothed to was planning to divorce her quietly, but the Holy Spirit intervened to settle his confusion, convincing him to stay the course, as there was glory ahead. 

Of course, the virgin girl also had her own personal reservations. It was in the days when purity was a big deal, and it is still a big deal to God these days, no matter what the world tries to tell you, or how it seeks to belittle the value of purity and holiness. How would she become pregnant without knowing a man, which was the usual process for such an experience? The Holy Spirit made it clear that all that was ahead was a function of the manifestation of the purpose, plan and power of God. The Lord can chart a new course for anyone, and do what has never been done before, so that His glory can be revealed. Is there anything ypu consider as too hard or impossible for you to achieve? You need to place that thing in the hands of God, and let Him do what He alone can do, so that His glory can be seen, and the hearts of men can be drawn to Him. 

The end result that God wanted to achieve made Him do what had never been done. We will not have a virgin birth again on this side of eternity, but we will definitely see a lot of unique, never-repeated miracles. If there are more than 8 billion people on the face of the earth, each with unique fingerprints, God sure has more than 8 billion ways He can solve a particular problem. He is not limited the way mortal man is, and He cannot be fitted into a mould or box. The Holy child of God, the Son of God, was to be born, and heaven would witness mighty things. God is still doing the amazing and the miraculous today, and any life that will submit to Him will definitely have encounters with the supernatural enablement that only God can give. The gift of Jesus shows that God is committed to my earthly and eternal health. Would you surrender your life to Him today? God's time of favour is here.
