Sent!

Sent!

Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send? And who will go for Us? Then said I, Here am I; send me. Isaiah 6:8 AMPC

Context and Charge:
Before the request or question in today's verse was pronounced by the Lord, there was an encounter by Isaiah that had to happen. God will not send out a man He has not prepared. God cannot prepare a man until that man has encountered God. That encounter may take different forms, or happen at different times, but it is certain that it must happen. How would I be sufficiently motivated to stay the course if I do not know the value of who I have been called to follow and what the One who calls wants me to do. For Isaiah, this encounter had to do with the holiness of God. There is no one who will encounter God's holiness that would see him/herself for who s/he really is. The question has to be: "Have I truly had a personal encounter with this God? Do I know clearly what His expectations for and from me are?

We can hold on to a form of godliness, keep to some traditions and uphold some norms, but when a man has seen God, he knows that there is a need to change track. A personal encounter with God gives a man new pursuits and priorities. You cannot fully discern or perceive God's voice until you have submitted to His authority. Being in church is not enough; knowing the words of the bible is also not enough. Being morally upright is also not enough, and holding the popular titles of the church, such as bishop or His holiness, but until the Holy God shows you who He is, the titles will always be empty of the power of the One who commissions men for assignment. Before I wander so far away from God that his warnings cannot reach me, I must submit myself to His purification and sanctification.

Conviction and Conclusion:
The Lord is always speaking; the question is whether I am able to hear him and respond accordingly. God is always looking for a man He can use, as there is a rich harvest waiting for willing labourers who will put in the work. The call for men goes out to the whole world, and men will lay claim on special access to God, yet only those who know His voice can truly submit and follow. Isaiah had seen God in all His glory, so it was easy for him to go on assignment for this God. He had no fear; he had no reservations; he just wanted to serve. This must be my own life summary, that when God came looking for a man/woman to work. He can count on me. There is work to be done, and it is work that cannot be done by intellect, human wisdom, or the strength of connections or influence. God is looking for anyone who is totally surrendered. Am I one? God's time of favour is here.
