After This!

After This!

After this I looked and a vast host appeared which no one could count, [gathered out] of every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages. These stood before the throne and before the Lamb; they were attired in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. In loud voice they cried, saying, [Our] salvation is due to our God, Who is seated on the throne, and to the Lamb [to Them we owe our deliverance]! Revelation 7:9‭-‬10 AMPC

Context and Charge:
We come to the account of the end of time as we know it now. If I can believe and lay claim to the other promises of God, such as provision, protection and peace, then I have to also know that the promise of God, relating to eternity, is also true and will come to pass. I cannot hold on to only those words that make me comfortable; I must also make room for the promise of God that keeps me focused and committed to purpose. That is what today's extract lays down. We see events as they unfold, one after the other. At this point, time is of no consequence. As God has laid it down, so will it happen. There had just been the sealing of a particular number of the tribes of Israel, and after that, we see the unveiling of countless host of people, beyond counting, coming before the throne and the Lamb. I must do all I can to be part of that number.

The Bible calls it a vast host that no one could count, but be rest assured that God knows the number. I cannot get lost in the midst of a crowd; because God knows my name, I cannot be inconsequential in the move of God in these end times, unless I make the choice to. As long as particular names have not been mentioned as entitled to stand before the throne, I must strive to be qualified to stand before the throne and declare, as it is recorded in today's verse. Three things were common to this vast host; one was that they came from all over the world, from nations, tribes, peoples and languages. Let no one say one group of people or a particular tribe is excluded. The other thing was that they were dressed in white, which symbolises cleanness and purity. These two points must drive my daily purpose, pursuits and priorities.

Conviction and Conclusion:
Then the third point: this vast host was also connected by a common belief, that they knew without a doubt that they were able to stand before the throne because they had been saved by the Lamb, not by their circle of influence, bank account balance, connection or any other consideration. It was all by the blood. If the blood of Jesus was not sufficient to cleanse us from sin and secure eternal life for all who come to believe in Jesus, God would not stake eternity on it. These three points are quite important for me as an individual. I must be sure that my present life's choices and decisions will give me the grace to stand before the throne and be able to declare the words of today's verse. Am I holy? Am I clean? Does God know me as His own? Am I working the right way for the right reward or am I content with the mundane? Eternity is too long a time not to be sure where you will spend it. God's time of favour is here.
