Go!

Go!

‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15‭-‬16‬ ‭AMP‬‬
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. He who has believed [in Me] and has been baptized will be saved [from the penalty of God’s wrath and judgment]; but he who has not believed will be condemned.

The Context and Focus:
The words of today's verse come up at the time when Jesus had paid the price for the salvation of men. He had died on the cross, a shameful death at the time, because in line with God's Word, cursed is every man that hangs on the tree. The one who knew no sin became sin for all of us, dying the death that we should have died, so that we could enjoy the life of God. The story did not end there, as Jesus also rose from the dead, being the first one to rise from the dead, never to die again. Now, with all that Jesus has done, there has to be some measure of responsibility and accountability demanded from me. Jesus could not have paid such a high price, and then there will be no price for me to pay. This message of salvation is now for everyone, and I have a duty to pass on the same grace that I have received to other people. This is the message in today's verse.

The Message:
The assignment is for all who are disciples of Jesus, just as they were when Jesus gave this assignment. He instructs us to go into all the world. It is not for me to sit down and criticise those who go, but I have to go. I am not to be choosy about where I go, but I am to go into all the world. I cannot pick and choose who the message is for, or define the people who deserve to hear the message. There are times when I may know the past of someone else, but it does not in any way impact how I relate with that person. Just as the love of God found me, so the love of God must be shown to other people. This is the message the world needs at this time. Jesus has been declared as the Way, the Truth and the Life. No one can come to the Father except through Jesus. By him shall all men be saved, and it is by my speaking that men would hear the Word of life and be saved. Am I ready and willing to go on assignment for Jesus?

The Conclusion:
All I need to do is to speak. The response is not mine to worry about. The world has to know about the love of God, and then be able to make up its mind how it will respond. The verse above also makes that clear. He who believes in Jesus will be saved from the penalty and consequences of sin. All men, born of women, are actually born unto sin, as we all inherited the nature of sin from Adam the first man. The due punishment for unconfessed sin is death. That is why all men must receive the new life made available through Jesus. It is not received by assimilation or inheritance, but by a deliberate and conscious decison of mine to surrender my life to Jesus. As is always the case, it has been made clear what I stand to gain or lose. The decision is mine to make. The reward or consequence of my decision is also mine to live with. Now I know the terms and conditions of the assignment, the place and the target of the assignment. What is my decision? God's time of favour is here.
