This God 4!

This God 4!

This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for he faced all of the same testings we do, yet he did not sin. So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. Hebrews 4:15‭-‬16 NLT

We have a High Priest. I love the start of the verses above, which makes this High Priest a personal one. Unlike the Old Testament priest, who had to first offer a sacrifice for his own sin before he could dare offer for the people, Jesus took his own blood, offered his own life as the perfect sacrifice for sin once and for all. The end had come to repetitive offering; that one sacrifice is good for all time and for all of eternity. Jesus also came in human form in order to identify with us in our weaknesses. In His deity, death could not come near Him. Man could not have arrested Him in His God-form. He knew we could not make it on our own, so He came in our form, but without sin, so He could be the perfect replacement for the due punishment under sin. Someone had to die, as sin demanded, but sin did not envisage that someone like Jesus would be the One to offer to die in the place of man.

The coming of Jesus as man shows that we do not have to keep going on in our own strength. We now have the perfect example of humanity and divinity rolled up into One person who has walked in our shoes and knows where they hurt. His life shows us that it is possible to have victory over sin, and that it is only by living in Him that we can enjoy the same victory over sin that He has won for us. This once-and-for-all sacrifice has granted us permanent access to the Presence of God, where we get to meet with the God who is and has everything we need. The temple veil has now been torn, the deep secrets of the Holy of Holies have been revealed, and man can walk in just as he is, and receive necessary help at the time it is most needed. Whatever it was that the High Priest at the time knew has now become available knowledge to all who come to Christ, and we have become His priests.

All needs are met in the presence of this God, not in the company of men. Men will call a committee to debate the how, when and the why they have to help you, but God invites us to approach him anytime. Men place a barrier to access, and it is not their fault, as they cannot help you beyond their own capacities. God says I am all you need, and I have all you need. In me, you find the fullness of life itself. At the time when the need is greatest, and the help is required, God steps in. He says He has given us all that we need for life and Godliness. He may not come at the time you think it is best for you, but he will definitely come at the right time that suits His purpose and plan for us. When we are down and out, God does not count us out. He is watching, waiting, working; He wants to help. What are you waiting for? Make the approach today. God's time of favour is here..
