Indeed, I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have your good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not “mine,” but it is lived by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20MSG
Statement of truth/fact: I have been crucified with Christ. It is the same fact all who confess Christ as their Saviour must also profess with their lives. It is a picture of absolute surrender and total dependence on the Life of Christ, when you know that all you are and have flow from the grace of God made available through the sacrifice on the cross. Everything about ego, possessions, position and privilege have no part in this new life; it is all about who Christ is and what he has done.
I cannot also boast in this new relationship as if it is of my own making. I cannot also impress God by what I do; afterall, he is the One who called me when i wasn't even looking for him. He now lives in me, making all the difference and helping me live right. The life is not mine; it is God's and I will give account of how I live that life. He has paid the price so I can enjoy the prize of his life. This price wasn't paid so I could live as I please, but to live as the owner of the life pleases. Am I living right? His time of favour is here.
