Motivator!

Motivator!

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God. Philippians 1:3 NLT

This is Paul, writing about the Philippian church, practically saying that every time he remembered the church, it made him break out in thanksgiving. It rasies a few questions and also provides valid answers, one of which is: do I have moments of reflection, when I think of the people who have helped my life, family and ministry, or do I just take it all for granted, thinking only of entitlement and benefit? Do I appreciate the impact of people around me, and how they have helped shapen and sharpen my life?

Do I even have such people and am I one of such people? Inasmuch as I need such people in my life, the bigger question will be if I am also such a person. Can someone else say the same about me? Paul knew he had an assignment from God but he knew he also needed people's help along the way. What impact am I making as I walk my walk or run my race? Am I a motivator; someone willing to let other people stay in the spotlight if need be?

And another key thing: Paul knew the God he had. Do I know God this way? Paul knew and directed his thanks to his God; the one who had saved and called him. Whether I hold on to the end is dependent on my understanding and knowledge of this God. He wants me to seek Him; He promises I will find Him if I seek with my whole heart. He is waiting; He's calling out. He seeks to bless and impact, if I allow Him. His time of favour is here.
