Sourced Right!

Sourced Right!

In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides].
Ephesians 6:10 AMPC

We live in perilous times. We have found new ways of living outside of God's express commands and also developed defenses against pricks of our consciences. We seem to get better at the things that draw our attention away from God, but it is unfortunate that no matter the dispensation or the season you are in, God's standards do not change and will never change for anyone. Today's extract charges me to keep my heart on the right path, which is on God and Him alone. This season requires strength and grace; this season calls for absolute dependence on God.

You have to draw your strength from someone; it is either God is the one backing you up, or you have found other options. Only in union with God can you hold on to the end. There are stories of great beginnings and amazing journeys, but it is very important that we end well. All of God's blessings only make sense when I hold on to the end, not when I have only a great start. I cannot hold on to God and also try and hold on to other human devices. When it comes to desperate times, and you have to hang on with both hands for dear life, you will need to let go of one. Which one will you let go of?

Draw your strength from God alone. The world has temporary palliatives, good only for a season, but the Ancient of Days, the one who has been long before all the world's problems began, knows how to help if I only let Him. If I will make impact, if I will last the distance, if I will get to the end of my race, knowing fully well that I couldn't have survived without God's help, I must totally depend on God alone. He's waiting to help; I must choose Him of my own free will. His time of favour is here.
