Reasons!

Reasons!

The Lord did not set His love upon you and choose you because you were more in number than any other people, for you were the fewest of all people. Deuteronomy 7:7 AMPC

The world talks about qualifications, status and achievements. Men are judged and rewarded on the basis of certificates, degrees and net worth. Unfortunately, we seek to apply the same standard to our spiritual walk, forgetting always that God never does conventional or normally accepted things. He does not judge people on the basis of ephemeral and temporal things the way the world does.

A good example is Israel. He calls them his people- chosen by him out of all the nations of the earth. You could hate the nation, but is it there anything the people themselves did to deserve all the love and attention? It's clear here that God's decision had nothing to do with what the people of Israel could offer Him in return. God was the one doing all the work, while Israel kept rebelling. God did not choose these people because they were a multitude; long before they became a force to be reckoned with, He started with just 1 man- Abraham.

And that's how it is with God. You can't come to Him pleading your qualifications; He doesn't need them to make you what he wants you to be. They are good, no doubt, but God would rather take glory in and through them, than for you to take glory in them. He doesn't need the numbers; He just needs ME to walk with Him. He will do the blessing and the lifting in His own time and in His own way. It is always better for God to work on you and then announce you to the world, than for me to fight for it. His time of favour is here.
