The Right Place

COL 3:1-2 NIV

Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.

An understanding of your location determines your allocation. An understanding of who you are and whose you are determine the resources and the benefits that accrue to you. If a man is double-minded, unstable in his ways and untrustworthy with earthly things, how does God trust him with heaven's resources? If a man has not settled the issue of his identity and ownership, then priorities don't exist, principles are blurred, convictions are uncertain and faith is vain and empty.

If I'm raised with Christ, then my life must bear fruits that look like that kind of life. If I died with Christ, then my life ceases to be under my control. I must set my eyes and heart and mind on heavenly things, not on things on the earth. Earth's beauty is always vain, empty and temporary. The things above are the important and necessary things. Get your priorities right; his time of favour is here.
