Your life impact and eternal destination are tied to your inner content. It does not matter if the world celebrates you; It did the same to Jesus when he rode on a donkey into Jerusalem, yet by the end of that same week, the cry had changed from 'Hossana' to 'Crucify Him'. That's the nature of the world.

What is important today is to check your inner content: Who is in charge? If it is God, your understanding of who you are, what to do and how to do it will be fundamentally affected by your ownership structure. Easter is a reminder of the helplessness of man, and God's permanent solution to the power of sin. A perfect life was given for imperfect men, and innocent blood was shed so that the guilty could walk away free. Yes, free from punishment but not free from responsibility. The price wasn't paid so I could live as I please, but in honour and appreciation of the One who gave his life for me.

Today's extract starts with an assumption, which I must personally answer in light of eternity. It is also a statement of fact and assurance, that if I take the right decision, I stand to gain much more than the whole world can give me. Remember, you cannot give what you do not have and if I hold on the world, I can only get what the world can offer. If I hold on to God, then I get all that God offers, which is Life, both down here and with him forever.

This mortal body is so weak and limited. It makes great boasts, yet it cannot guarantee its own tomorrow. That ia why it needs a Saviour, One who can give it what it needs, which is true Life, which never ends. I am again reminded of the brevity of this life, and the Life that never ends. The choice is mine, rejection is fatal and the benefits of submission are eternal. What's the choice? His time of favour is here.
