The True Reward

Ruth 2:11-12 AMP:
And Boaz said to her, I have been made fully aware of all you have done for your mother-in-law since the death of your husband, and how you have left your father and mother and the land of your birth and have come to a people unknown to you before. The Lord recompense you for what you have done, and a full reward be given you by the Lord, the God of Israel, under Whose wings you have come to take refuge!

If there's any passage of Scripture that convinces me that God is a God of utmost, ultimate and complete knowledge, this one is. If I ever wondered if God truly looks beyond the past and can bless someone beyond his background and his past, Ruth is a classical example. She was a Moabitess, one of the races that God had labelled as enemies of his people. They were not to be married to anyone in Israel; they were the products of the incestual relationship between Lot and his older daughter. God had cursed these nation because of Israel.
A few centuries down the line, here we see a Moabite woman, a widow of an Israelite, living in Israel, being blessed by an Israelite and obtaining favour from the same God of Israel. She had no entitlement to anything related to Abraham's blessings, but till Jesus comes, as long as the Bible is read, she gets to be mentioned. Even better still is the account of the genealogy of Jesus, with the likes of a Moabite woman and a certain harlot mentioned as part of the lineage of Jesus.
Who then is the one who condemns? Who holds the measuring guage for the one that God must bless? Who can predict or presume on the favour of God? He does what he pleases by blessing whoever he chooses; afteralll, no matter where we are or what we do, we were all created by the same loving father. He alone is qualified to bless and no man can reverse. He alone sees beyond the baggage of the past and sees the glory ahead. He alone sees the big picture and he is the only One that matters in our journey of destiny.
Forget the past; if you are in Christ, it is forgotten. It could even be the springboard God will use to bring you into a new standing with him. Fix your eyes on the One who knows and holds tomorrow. He can bring you into your own land of abundance. Rejoice, for his time of favour is here.
