If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love [for others growing out of God’s love for me], then I have become only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal [just an annoying distraction]. 1 CORINTHIANS 13:1 AMP
I could be amazingly gifted, yet be deficient in the things that matter the most. Jesus left all his glory in heaven and came to earth as a man, so he could identify with our sufferings and weaknesses. Love spoke out of all his actions, because he considered our eternal status more important to him than any other thing.
Man celebrates gifts; we are moved by them and can be distracted also by them. Gifts are good, especially the ones that seek to edify others and build them up, but unless they are exercised right, I only become an empty vessel, making so much noise but having little impact. The earth was created by Love and will respond first to love before anything else.
So, as I go out today, I must seek the good of others in love, before I seek to prove I am right. I must relate with others the same way God relates with me- in love, not minding my past or present, but focused on what I could become in his hands. His time of favour is here.
