Dwell & Rest!

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. PSALM 91:1 AMP

Like all of God's commandments and promises, there is the power of free choice for anyone who will enjoy the benefits and blessings on offer. Today's extract follows the same pattern. One of the central themes of today's extract is the type of residence required of one who will enjoy what God offers, and it is on DWElLLING, not any other kind of residence.

And there is an appropriate place, not just any kind of place. You do not decide where you will stay; you have got to be where God says He can protect you. Another version calls it the 'secret place of the Most High'. It is secret because not everyone can find it, and it is a place your entire heart must seek after if you will find it. It is secret because it takes commitment and total devotion to seek after it and to remain in it, no matter the attraction other options offer.

The One you seek after must be clear in your heart: it is not an idea or a concept; it is a person. Many go after the possesions; you have got to seek after the Possessor Himself, the One in whom all fullness rests.
Security and rest are found in the Most High, not in high fences or gates or tall guards. When death or evil come knocking, physical bars won't stop them. Only a sure foundation on the Most High will guarantee safety and security.

Things may not always go the way you plan it, but you can rest assured that in Christ, it will surely end in praise. You may not always get what you want or think you need; your most important decision is actually about residence and content. If you have these rightly sorted out, you are prepared for both this present earthly life and the one to come. His time of favour is here.
