Workmanship
For we are God's [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]. Ephesians 2:10 AMPC
First, it is settled truth that I am a finished product. God already put in me all I need for life and Godliness and placed me in the very spot where I am to fulfil His purpose for my life. I am called his workmanship- the outward proof of God's skill, prowess and ability. In me, his power, wisdom and strength are all made manifest, and the only way I can live in gratitude for all He's done is to find out the WHY behind my life and pursue that with single-minded devotion.
Until I find Christ, it is likely I will continue to struggle. In Christ lies all I need for life and Godliness, and only in and through Him am I able to fulfil God's purpose for my life. Though I am the finished work of Christ, I do not actually begin the journey of discovery; pursuit and fulfilment until I have met and accepted the One who can make it all work out. I do not come into this life and start to grope in the dark, looking for what to do; God already settled that long before I was born.
Every experience, trial, tribulation, storm or wind all work towards the making of me into what God intends. The course and path for my life doesn't catch God by suprise; not even my mistakes and wrong judgments can derail His plans and purposes. I can get delayed by the choices I make or the path I tread, but there is nothing in this present life or the life to come that can change God's purpose. It then means that the greatest assignment of man is to find out what he's been created to do, and to get busy doing it in the strength and power of the Only One who can bring it all together.
So, what am I doing right now? Am I busy at my own things or doing what God intends? As always, rewards are tied to what God ordains, not what I commission. His time of favour is here.
