Anxious fear brings depression, but a life-giving word of encouragement can do wonders to restore joy to the heart. Proverbs 12:25 TPT
What is the foundation of fear? It is not being in control of the narrative; not being able to keep things under your control; not being able to predict, with a measure of certainty, how things will go. You may have laid out the best plans; yet God may just be leading in a completely different direction. When you have done all you can and nothing is still working out, fear could be the resultant effect.
In this situation, it matters what you feed the fear. If you feed it negative confessions and admission of cluelessness, you make it worse. If you feed your fear with faith in God's Word, you deprive fear of oxygen and it will die. Fear brings depression; faith in God's Word breeds hope and joy. It sure matters what you feed your heart with.
The importance of speaking the right words per time cannot be overemphasised. Wars have been fought over the wrong use of words; destinies have been shaped and destroyed by the right or wrong use of the tongue. God, the perfect example, spoke the earth into existence by words, and as His children, we carry the same power. How I use my words could mean the difference between giving up and pressing on for someone listening to me.
It is appropriate to end on this note: right from creation to the end of this present earthly phase, God will always honour His Word. He always has something to say to all who will take the time to listen to Him. He wants to bless the world around me, and one way He will do this is by His Word. Isaiah 50:4a NLT says: The Sovereign Lord has given me his words of wisdom, so that I know how to comfort the weary. Are you a fear-mongerer or a faith-builder? His time of favour is here.
