But if we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, continually cleanses us from all sin. 1 John 1:7 TPT
What you get from God will depend on how you walk with Him. It's always been said that your location determines your allocation. I also note that today's extract emphasises on 'keep living'. It is not temporary accommodation, where you come in for a few days and leave. It is continous practice; permanent residence; consistent living. That is the secret to unlocking the amazing treasures God has in store.
What do I stand to gain from my residence status? There are 2 things mentioned here: 1. Unbroken fellowship with other people who share the same residence status. Skin colour, language and tribe become the flair that makes fellowship interesting; God is the chord that holds it all together. 2. The blood of Jesus is the foundation of that fellowship, because by the blood, our sins are forgiven and our eternity is secured, if we remain faithful to the One who paid the price. It is unbroken fellowship because the earthly phase is a small window into what will continue in eternity.
Let it be said here: God is Light, dwells in light and all who claim to know Him must also walk in light. You cannot claim to know and follow God and still be comfortable around sin. You cannot serve God and the devil at the same time. God's arms are always stretched out; his gifts are on offer for all who will make the approach. It is a call that cannot be taken lightly; it is a call that will demand new priorities from you. It is a call from the ordinary and the mundane into the supernatural and the amazing.
