Filled!

Filled!

But [the time is coming when] the earth shall be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, As the waters cover the sea. Habakkuk 2:14 AMP

The Inspiration:
The world, since its creation, plods on. The seasons come and go, and then return again. Even with the scope of climate change and all its attendant impact, nothing has disrupted the changing of the ssasons from summer to autumn, to winter and to spring, or from the rainy season to harmattan, and all repeated over and over again, depending on where in the world you live. The promise by God to hold the seasons in place was given as far back as Noah's time and till today, science has not done much to change it. If time has not been able to break that promise of God, then I must rest assured the promise in today's verse will also come to pass. It is man that struggles to keep his word, because he is also subject to external circumstances. No man can beat his chest that he will see tomorrow unless God assures him.

The Contention:
When you consider where the world is right now, with its propensity to sin, evil and unrighteousness, you may wonder how this promise will be fulfilled, but if God has always shown himself faithful, you have the confidence that nothing down here can upset His plans. We can lay out the best plans or draw up amazing ideas, but we must get used to the truth that only what God backs up that will stand. The verse makes it clear that it has not yet happened at the time the words were sent to Habakkuk, but as we look at our world today, knowledge is critical to where we are now. The internet has made searching for things about God easier; the bible is one of the most downloaded and translated books in the world, and even the world seems to admit that it needs help that it cannot produce by itself.

The Conclusion:
This is where those who know God truly and sincerely must come in. What am I doing to promote and entrench the knowledge of God? What am I doing to make Him attractive to men? Is there anything in my conduct, conversation, the company I keep or my general character that will make anyone take a second look at me and want to ask about the scope, depth and basis of my convictions? The seas are covered with water; that is a given. You can't go into the sea expecting dry land. A day comes soon when the earth will know and recognize and submit to the authority of Jesus. I can do it willingly now, or I can be compelled to do it later. The choice, as well as the eternal consequences of my choice, is left to me to decide. God's time of favour is here.
