WAIT 2!!

WAIT 2!

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭NIV‬‬
but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

As defined in the focus for yesterday, waiting is to 'stay where one is or delay action until a particular time or event'. Just as it has been made clear above, it has to be emphasised that it matters what you do while you wait. It is not a waiting due to boredom or lack of motivation, but it is a waiting for a particular time or event to occur. In the verse above, we know now who/what we are waiting for.  The verse asks me to 'wait on the Lord'. Some versions use wait 'for' the Lord. Waiting on God means I am staying where I am until there is clarity on the next step. I am waiting for the person to place an order, or to speak and give directions to me before I step out to carry out the instructions. Waiting on someone could mean the person is expected, and it could also mean that you are before that person, and can identify the person you seek to serve. Can I say, of a truth, that I am waiting on God, as I stay in His presence, focused on His Word, seeking His face and seeking His clear Word for the next step of my life?  Am I living daily IN His presence, or am I a weekly, monthly, quarterly or annual visitor to His presence?

As I wait ON God, I have his promise of a renewing of strength. How it works may not always be clear, but no man waits on God the right way and then messes up the order or instruction. If I wait on Him and get clear instructions, I know that He is the Lord and Master of my time, resources and application, so I will not struggle with obedience and surrender. There are things I will be asked to do that the natural supply of wisdom will not be able to define or cope with. There will be demands on my time and resources thst the natural man will struggle to give up. There are achievements that are only possible based on the daily dependence on the supply of the One who gives the instructions. Also, when God is the focus, you are not in competition with anyone. Whatever the level I am in now, God is ready to help me, and to supply all that I need for the journey He has asked me to undertake. It is only in God that a man can run and not be weary, or walk and not be faint. There is a limit to human ability, influence or connection. No one waits ON God and regrets; there is no limit to the impact a man who God helps can make. God's time of favour is here.
