Refreshed!

Refreshed!

‭Jeremiah 31:25 AMP‬
[25] For I [fully] satisfy the weary soul, and I replenish every languishing and sorrowful person.

Again, we see God punishing those whom He had chosen as His special possession, when they sinned. It bears repeating that God will always punish unconfessd sin, no matter in whom it is found. God has no favourites when it comes to sin, and it is important that I stay away from sin so as not to incur the wrath of God which is the response of God to sin. It is also a thing of joy that the punishment for sin s not the end of the story, otherwise, we would not be reading the verse above. God punishes, but His mercy also seeks to restore. He is the One who scattered His people due to sin, but He also would be the One to gather them from the nations He had scattered them to.

Check out the promises in the verse above, and you will see that no effort is requested by the receiver of the promise. In fact, the state of the receiver of the promise is so dire that there is nothing s/he could have done to deserve the promise, unless mercy spoke. All I read about from the verse above is God's actions flowing from His nature. The weary soul would not put up a fight, the weary soul would not resist the warrior or the avenger, if God does not help. However, if God decides to help the weary, you can be sure of strength beyond the natural and the usual. That is the message of the verse above. When God steps in, destiny and direction change. His touch never leaves a man the same way He meets him.

I also note that the person to be helped must admit his/her state. You cannot be helped if you do not think you need it, or your actions show independence or self-sufficiency. God does not go against the exercise of my freewill, and He will not force Himself on me. His perfect will comes into effect, simply because He is the Almighty, Omnipotent God. There is nothing that can stop His perfect will from coming to pass. I bring to Him every weariness and sorrow, and I ask for His help to deal with them. He has the capacity and the capability, but I must hand them all over to Him. That is the surrender that enables Him work. Would you do the same? God's time of favour is here.
