The Seer!

The Seet!

‭Psalms 139:11-12 NIV‬
[11] If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” [12] even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

We serve a God of absolute knowledge, who cannot be deceived by the outward show that usually impresses men. We serve a God of awesome proportions and power, who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we can ever ask or imagine. We have a God who sees the things done in secret, as well as the secret motives behind the things done in the open, and He is able to reward in the open. It is in the light of the understanding of the information presented above that the verse under consideration today is to be explained. Why do things thinking God does not see or know these things? Can someone who made the eyes then not see?

Can a God who made animals who can perceive smells or sounds from far away be too dumb to hear whatever is said or even thought of? Why would I fool myself for even a moment, thinking I could hide anything away from God, or even myself. Whatever is done by me, whether in the thickest darkness or the brightest light, is seen by God. There is a reason why He is called the Omnipotent, Omnipresent and Omniscient God. Nothing can be hidden or kept from Him. The psalmist here made reference to this reality from the words of the verse above. Darkness has no impact on God, because He is Light. In Him is no darkness at all.

Even when darkness seeks to overwhelm me, I go with the confidence in the fact that He promises to be with me at all times. Even if it is sin that has brought the darkness to me, I must know that God still sees me, and wants me to return to Him. Whatever it is that has led to darkness, either self-inflicted or by other designs, there is a God who rules and reigns over the affairs of men. There is nothing that can catch Him by surprise, because He is in total control of all of life. Whether it is something convenient or otherwise, every experience is a tool in His hand to bring about His purpose and plan to bear. All I need to do is to surrender all to Him. Does He own and hold my heart? If not, it is not too late to surrender. God's time of favour is here.
