Trust- Eternal

Trust Eternal,

Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: Isaiah 26:4 KJV

I am asked to trust in the Lord. It all depends on whether I know who I am, and if I truly know what is expected of me. Trust is not a passive thing; you do not show trust by folding your arms and watching life pass you by. You cannot claim you trust in God simply because you know the right phrases and actions that give the impression that God is all you know. This God who demands your trust is not a God you can fool or deceive with outward pretence.

And trust, the genuine kind, is not time-bound. You do not trust God for a season and then let go. You do not trust God because of what you get and change your mind when things dry up. Trust has to be forever, because God is eternal. I am not called to trust a God who cannot correctly predict or determine the future. Of what use is a God who you cannot commit your present to, sure and certain that He is able to keep all you have committed into His hands?

Another reason is given at the end of today's extract: in God is everlasting strength. You refer to God as the One who is timeless and without origin or end; He's the One called our refuge and strength. He has not left us without a clear understanding of who He is, and what He can do. Whether now, in this present phase, or in the phase that is yet to come, you have to deal with God. It is better to trust in Him now and end up with Him, than to trust in man and end up without Him. His time of favour is here.
