For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time. 1 Timothy 2:5-6 AMPC
Let it be said here again that thee is only one God. I do not know which one you have been introduced to or who you have followed all your life, but the only God tells us who He is, what He has done and what He desires for all who want to come to Him. You cannot claim Him as your own and reject His gifts and his nature. He is a complete package:both the Gift of all that is good and the Giver of all good things.
He is also called the Mediator between God and man. Only someone who has functioned well in both parts understands what this role requires. A mediator is not required if there is no quarrel and when all quarrels cease, the role of a mediator becomes obsolete. Sin changed the landscape for man and made him a candidate for judgement and destruction, but the mediator, who is both God and man, who is Jesus Christ, has paid the price for a full pardon.
At the time the price was paid, we didn't care too much who He was. We made our life's choices as we went along, but when the time had fully come, we found our way to God. Now, we stand as personal witnesses to the grace, mercy and love a wonderful father has for us. We couldn't earn it, we didn't work for it, but He showed us His grace anyway. The door of mercy is still open, for as many as would come in.
The gift has been given, and all through the years, people have testified to the amazing grace of God manifested in salvation. On this side of eternity, we do have a choice to make and a response to sort out. A time is coming when the testimony about Jesus will no longer be about salvation but about judgement. He is the Lamb now, taking away the sins of the world but one day, He will return as the Lion. He is the advocate and mediator now, but one day, He will return as the Judge. Have you responded to the gift on offer? His time of favour is here.
