Legacies

One fundamental truth we must address is the legacy we are presently establishing and preparing to leave for the next generation.
Check out the foundation of the lives of Jacob and Esau. They had a father who was the recipient of a promise passed down from his father. Isaac knew what God expected of him so he lived within the confines of the land God had promised he would bless him in. But here's the clincher: because of personal, ephemeral considerations, Isaac and Rebekah chose sides with their sons. For Isaac, food was the consideration and the condition under which he would bless his son. For Rebekah, it was probably the prophecy at the birth of the twins that helped her choose sides. Jacob the younger was promised greater blessings than Esau the older. The choices had been made and the repercussions were grave.
Friends, life is about choices. What you do today counts towards your tomorrow. Isaac spent his old age in worry and anxiety as Jacob ran away for more than 20 years while Esau swore to kill Jacob. The first day Jacob left home was the last day Rebekah saw her son. Isaac didn't see Jacob for the same period and Esau kept being a pain by marrying heathen women because he saw that his father did not approve of these women.
What you do NOW counts. Watch every action, word, thought and relationship. The seeds you sow now are the fruits you will eat tomorrow. As someone said: ' Live as if Christ died yesterday, rose up today and is coming back tomorrow'.
Live right, do right, think right, be right. Sow the right seeds. His time of favour is here.
