Waiting......

I really cannot say what was on God's mind when he made the promise that Israel will serve a foreign nation for 430 years. I can imagine the pain he must have felt when the people cried out to him for help, generation after generation, but he could not yet bring them out because the time had not yet come. Generation after generation came, cried and died and it appeared as if God didn't care.
But when the fulness of time had come, Moses was born and brought up right in Pharaoh's palace, so he could learn the ways, customs and practice of the land of Egypt. He also had temper issues that God had to deal with because of the people he had to lead.
God's timing is indeed strange. He does things as he sees best, not as it suits us. He sees so far ahead and sees how everything fits together into his ultimate plan, while all we see is the now and the immediate. We must therefore trust his wisdom, timing and silence. Atimes, he says nothing so we can trust him in the dark times; atimes he says yes if it lines up with his will at the moment; atimes it is an outright no if it is not the best for us. Whatever his response, I'm in the hands of a God who has perfect understanding of who I am and what I need and he knows the best time to align the supply of my needs with the fulfilment of His purpose for my life. I must trust him completely. His time of favour is here.
