My Help

Isaiah 30:1-2 NIV:
“Woe to the obstinate children,” declares the Lord , “to those who carry out plans that are not mine, forming an alliance, but not by my Spirit, heaping sin upon sin;  who go down to Egypt without consulting me; who look for help to Pharaoh’s protection, to Egypt’s shade for refuge.

Where do you seek help from: God or people? A lot of us have come to believe that we must help God by doing all we can to put ourselves in a favourable position to benefit. The problem with that thinking is that we begin to think for God, reasoning him out and trying to help him to our own advantage.
The passage underlines a fact: no one can help God achieve his purpose. We can only put ourselves in a position of availability, trusting Him to work out his purpose and plan as we trust His Wisdom, power and grace.
Egypt has no help to offer; the past has nothing to give. Look ahead, look to God. He alone has the answers to all of life's questions.
Trust him, his time of favour is here.
