The God of Knowledge

1 Samuel 2:3, 9b NIV
“Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the Lord is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. “It is not by strength that one prevails;

Indeed, God is a God of ultimate knowledge and power. He's a God who can do all things and has power over all he has created. He has power to pull down or pull up and he has power to kill and to give life. History will testify to his power through the ages, as we consider the lives of Nebuchadnezzar, in contrast with the 3 Hebrew men- Hannaiah, Mishael and Azariah. Nebuchadnezzar spoke proudly, thinking he could equate himself with God. God gave him the mind of an animal and for 7 years, he ate grass like an ox until in kercy, he was restored. The Hebrew men called on the God who knows all things; they were ready to die for the faith they professed. No wonder God showed himself mighty in their lives.
There's a need for us to examine our hearts, search our consciences and be honest with our motives. God cannot be deceived or mocked. All the days he had appointed for each of us had been written down and noted by him even before any of those days came to be so we cannot lie to the One who already knows what we are going to say.
No man can predict the next moment or minute, yet man lives contantly on the edge, planning and plotting for a day he's not absolutely certain about. We talk like we can plan for the future by our reasoning and logic; we plan with no God in mind and no care in the world but the truth is this: God is central to everything we do or can be. He is the One who can upset the best-laid plans and the same One who can fulfil a long-forgotten promise. He's the most important part of our Christian journey and we need his wisdom, guidance, protection and leading if our lives are to make sense.
Depend on Him today; let him lead and guide you in all aspects. He alone can sustain only that which he has ordained. His time of favour is here
