Faith.....

Genesis 15:5-6 NIV

He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”  Abram believed the Lord , and he credited it to him as righteousness.

It is difficult to see the clear road when there are tears in your eyes. It is hard to see anything positive in the face of much negativity around us. When God says: 'Have Faith', he knows he's not joking about it but then, it is a little difficult to take, when everything around is saying the opposite.
Picture Abram- he had been promised a child years ago, but here he was, still childless and not young anymore, in fact, he was, by earthly standards, past child-bearing age. Nothing scientific or natural supported the promise, except it was from the mouth of the same God who had made science and nature. Abram had a choice: believe and hold on, or doubt and strike out in a different direction. How do you convince a childless man that his offspring will be as many as the stars in the sky? How do you tell a man who has given up hope that there's hope at the next promise?
Abram had a choice; Abram made a choice, and the reward  of that choice still lives with us today. Because he believed, righteousness, a New Testament message, was credited to Abram and he's referred to as the father of faith. We must take a cue from this. Ignore the natural signs you see, ignore what empirical statistics tell you; God is able to go above and beyond such limitations to do what you think is impossible. Faith is the key to the breakthrough. Hebrews 11:6 NIV says:
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
Nothing else can be added. His time of favour is here.
