The Healing Word

Matthew 8:16-17 KJV
When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

The fall of man in the Garden of Eden has opened up a whole new world of experiences and possibilities. God's original plan was perfect: he created relational and rational beings who would crave fellowship with Him and to whom he could show his love. But man preferred logic and reason, and so made a choice for the things that seemingly made sense- ability to know good and evil. Unfortunately, in man's fallen state, he just couldn't help himself or keep himself from evil. It became the norm for man to do evil and then seek to justify it, because he had no capacity for any other type of behaviour.
Jesus just had to come. He sought to restore us back to God and bring us into our original stand in Him.  The devil will keep fighting this and trying to shift our focus away from what God himself can do. It has been wars, sicknesses, plagues, problems and many others from the devil all the years, but in the midst of these, there's a calming influence that God brings and makes your heart know that he's fully in charge and knows what he's doing.
Today's quote shows the plan of God for our lives- perfect health and relationships. God's Word all through the years had been that a lamb will come and bear our sicknesses and diseases. His death and resurrection on Calvary have sealed that for us but we can only enjoy it when we find ourselves in him. All who were healed were brought to him or he went to them. They had faith that His Word couldn't fail and it never did. If there's anything that can be relied on and trusted in these trying times, it is the Word of the never-changing, ever-consistent God.

The One who is the I Am that I Am is the author and no matter the age or generation that seeks him, he's always presently there and he's current enough to deal with the most complex of circumstances.
