The Appointment

Daniel 12:2 NIV

Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.

Have you ever given much thought to your eventual eternal destination? Have you thought much about where you intend to spend eternity? Do you even know or believe if there's heaven or hell or if anything is real at all?
There must be something after this present life. We all come here, like a market-place,  we trade with words, actions, thoughts, and procedures and at the end of our trading, we go home with the rewards and eventual consequences of our actions and words.
We deceive men so easily. We can lie, pretend or swear falsely and no man will be any wiser but before God, our lives are like an open book. Because he created us and gave us breath, he knows us infinitely and he will therefore reward or punish according to the truths of your words, actions, thoughts and procedures.
At the end of our days on earth, an accounting will be done, and a destination will be determined for every life. It is the seeds you sow today that will determine that eventual destination. Yesterday is history, its joys and regrets cannot be reversed. Tomorrow isn't assured; Jesus may have come before then. What you have as a gift is today, that is why it is called the present. Open it up, make the best of it. Make it count for your eternity by doing the things that the owner and holder of your life expects, because one day soon, every single one of us will awake for judgement and the standard will be applied. Make sure you are ready. The standard has been set and it is only by accepting Jesus as both Saviour and Lord that you can be sure of heaven. Make the choice now. His time of favour is here
