Power of 2
Two are better than one because they have a more satisfying return for their labor; for if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and does not have another to lift him up. ECCLESIASTES 4:9-10 AMP
There has to be some deep life secrets revealed to the wisest man on earth in his own time, for him to write the words of today's extract. In keeping this extract in context, it is important to note that there are some instances where remaining alone is better than being joined to the wrong company. The same Bible warns against bad company, so we keep today's extract in the right perspective.
When it comes to some spheres of life, two are better than one. If 2 people have the same mind, and are committed to the same project, there is almost nothing that they will not achieve. God himself testified to this when he addressed the project of the tower of Babel, which was defeated, not because the people stopped believing in the work, but because they could not walk and work together. That's the power of focus and commitment.
The power of the right 2 is seen everywhere you turn. It appears that there is an exponential increase when more people commit to a thing in sincerity. 1 chases a thousand, 2 chase ten thousand, reflecting the power of committment. If 1 makes a mistake, the other could help put it right. If 1 falls, the other is there to lift him/her up. Maybe God-ordained marriages could be the greatest testimony of the power of 2, where 2 very different people come together and work together to raise lives who will in turn impact their generation.
Indeed, God himself, from the Garden of Eden, never intended that man be alone. He knows the power available in fellowship, and He sets the example by reaching out to us daily, helping us when we fail or fall, and applauding us on as we live. That's his example, and he demands we do the same to others. Can God depend on me to be his eyes, hands, ears and heart to the world around me? Can others see Him in and through me? His time of favour is here.
