True Wisdom!

True Wisdom!

“So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, will be like a wise man [a far-sighted, practical, and sensible man] who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
MATTHEW 7:24‭-‬25 AMP

As always, I have a choice of response to God and His Word. God is always speaking; the issue is always whether we are always listening out for His voice. It has always been my understanding that my relationship with God's word is what determines what I get out of God. If I do not know what I am entitled to or what God says about my situation, how do I stand on the Word? How does my life withstand the storms that life will definitely bring my way?

It is not enough to hear; the balance is to also act on it. It then means that if all I do is hear, it is not likely that I will stand in the day of trouble. Acting on God's Word shows trust, faith and total dependence on God, sure that He is able to do all He has promised. Even when the realities around me speak differently, I am unmoved if I have a word of assurance from God and I stand on it. This is the anchor for the soul; the firm assurance that I am firmly rooted and storms cannot shake my faith in Christ.

I note that the floods, wind and rain and torrents are not conditional; they WILL come, whether I am prepared for them or not. The other constant thing should be the quality of my foundations but it would only make sense if they are rooted in God. So when the uncertain and unpredictable reality of earthly storms meet with the firm predictability and reality of the eternal God, which one would you think will overcome? Standing firm on God's word is the only assurance I have that long after the storms have passed, my life will continue to make impact for God.

What's the quality of your foundations? Or first of all, what's the place of God's Word in your life? His time of favour is here.
