Grace.....Available

Titus 2:11-12 NIV

For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age......

God is an awesone God. By his nature, he could compel us to fear and worship Him,  but his nature also abhors compulsion. He does not force us into submission or servitude; he simply offers us something better than what anyone or anything else could possibly give us.

As we stand here this day, know this: God's grace is an open cheque for which alll kinds of withdrawals, for all kinds of persons, are allowed. God has no favourites when it comes to grace, as he has freely, totally and absolutely given his grace to all men freely, so that all may come to the saving knowledge of His son, Jesus. It is a free gift, but it is under-appreciated. Because we don't have to work for it, we do not appreciate its worth.  Because it was freely offered to us, we do not fully understand the cost. Because it appears that God is a patient God, mostly not given to immediate punishment for sin, we push our boundaries, continuously trying new ways of offending God, not too concerned about the effects of our actions.

Today, the word of caution goes out again: grace is available, but grace is exhaustible this side of heaven. A day is coming when grace will not be a plea, but judgement will reign supreme. A day is coming when bowing to God will not be an option; even the devil will bow to the Lordship of Jesus himself.

Since the offer is still open, why not take advantage now? The offer of salvation will not be withdrawn until the last breath is taken- ask the thief on the cross. Say NO to ungodliness and unrighteousness today; say YES to life through Christ Jesus. His grace calls you, your life needs it, it will always be available until it is too late. Before it gets too late, take the offer. His time of favour is here.
