Psalms 46:1-2 KJV
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Many of us have, at one point in our lives, wondered at the timing of God, and the ways he works. We are in trouble, and we call out, but it appears as if God is on break. We cry out atimes, and it is as if our voice never leaves the room. It appears as if heaven's doors are shut against us. We seek and search for answers, but we only find more questions. We can only ask 'WHY', because nothing is clear to us.
Today's extract just goes to underline the importance of trusting in the wisdom and power of God. Today's word would not make much sense to the man who has found alternatives to God. This would no mean much to the man who seems to be self-made and self- sufficient. As long as I can look around and find 'help' outside of God, then this passage would not make much sense.
But if I have come to a final conclusion that it is God or nothing at all, if it is God that rules in the affairs of my life completely, if I have closed my heart to all other alternatives, and made God the owner and ruler of my life, then I am open to his leading and direction. Wherever he leads, I go. Whatever he's doing, I'm cooperating. I may not understand now, what matters is that I allow him to perfect all that relates to me.
Peter was sleeping in prison the night before his 'execution'; Paul and Silas praised God in prison after being beaten; Joseph held on to God in the pit, in Potiphar's house and in the prison, no wonder God led him ultimately to the palace. God is a refuge and strength,but we must willingly submit to his authority, wisdom and direction. God will not go contrary to the exercise of our will and he will only go as far as you allow him.
You want his help? Ask today and as he works, allow him have his way. His time of favour is here
