The Right Attitude

Romans 8:18 KJV

For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

I'm still not sure that there's anywhere in the Scriptures that God promised us clear blue skies or a stress-less existence. In fact, He continues to remind us that what we will get on earth is tribulations and trials, all tailor-made for our good and growth, so that we could turn out exactly as He intends. What He promises us is his presence, protection and power, as He prepares us for the place that He intends for us to occupy.

As we take stock of our lives today, it is apparent that there are no freebies anywhere. Life itself seems to be a struggle, with physical death as the only apparent end to the struggle. But there is a secret God's Word reveals- it is in his word and through his word that the secrets of true success are revealed. A man who will live in God's abundant life, both here and in the life to come, must take time to unearth and uncover those secrets from the Word. It is as we live by his word that we overcome the challenges that will come.

Let us settle one issue though: I know people say that God is s God of prosperity and He wants his children to be prosperous. If there's anything I know also, God will not give you blessings that will deny you a heavenly home. If He knows that giving you something will distract you from your goal, then He will keep such until the time when you are mature enough to handle it properly. God does not exalt and use a vessel He has not tested properly in the furnace of trials and found it able and capable. If you want to be mightily used, Submit to God and his perfect will. He alone knows what lies ahead and He alone knows what He needs to teach us so we can be all He wants us to be. His time of favour is here.
