All Heart!

All Heart!

‘Then [with a deep longing] you will seek Me and require Me [as a vital necessity] and [you will] find Me when you search for Me with all your heart. JEREMIAH 29:13 AMP

Beyond the activity or the labour, there is something else God looks for and rewards in every man, and it is sincerity. Man has perfected the art of deception, where we say something with our mouths but mean the very opposite with our hearts. We keep a straight face when serving, while our hearts are on expected gain or profit from our labour.

We strive for greatness and recognition, and when we don't get it, we scale down, sometimes change location, all in a bid to get the attention we 'deserve'. That's the way of the world, and people who live by its standards understand how it works. For those who answer to a different master, and who understand the essence of service and submission, things are a bit different.

God is always looking for people who He can shine through, and because His touch is more precious than gold, you have got to want it more than anything else. As long as you have viable options, God won't be a desperate search. As long as you have a fall back option, God won't be your one and only treasure. God promises that He will be found by all who seek Him, and he lays down the standard for the search: it has got to do with the whole of my heart, nothing less.

The heart of man is corrupt and desperately wicked, according to its creator, and only his careful and deep surgery can cure the heart of its disease. God is searching; waiting for man to seek Him out. He is right there: the next call, the next heartbeat, just asking you and I to trust Him with our lives. He created the whole world and all we could ever dream of, so why would we think we could leave Him out of the equation and still expect to fulfil our purpose?

Men like David were not perfect, but God had the whole of his heart; King Amaziah of Judah served God in his own days, but the Word of God records that he didn't do it with a perfect heart. No man could have come to that conclusion just by looking at both of them, but see how both ended up. Who's got your heart? What's got mine? His time of favour is here.
