Giving Right!

Giving Right!

Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure--pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.” LUKE 6:38 AMP

First, for every action, good or bad, there is always a reaction or response. It does not matter what I tell myself; God is always fair by His own standards. One of his laws, established in the old testament, is that whatever I put in the ground is what I will get back in return. However, the other part of that law is the principle of increase which says that what I get out of the ground is an exponential increase from what I put in the ground. So, the lesson is this: I must watch what I put in the ground, because I will definitely get back far more than I put in.

When I have done what is required, God is faithful to do his part. He promises that I will get something back. I note that He does not lay down the law on what I will get, or from where it will all come from; He's too powerful to be put in a box. He's Lord of all I see or can't see, and when he commands, even the devil must obey. He promises me good measure, pressed down to make room for even more, shaken together to show variety, options, quality and quantity. When dealing with God, things like logic and common sense do not apply.

I must watch my standard of measurement. Do I do what i do so that I can look good in front of people? Do I do good because I need human validation that I am the best around? When I am called to serve or be a blessing to my generation, what is my first consideration: impact or personal gain? This question is very important, as it lies at the heart of all I will get from God. Why it is important is because of the end, when all men will stand before God to give account, and some will say: "But Lord, in your name, we cast out demons". And his response will be: "Depart from me, I know you not, ye workers of iniquity".

God is just; his commands are clear and precise, and his requirements have been made known. What would you do? His time of favour is here.
