At Work!

At Work!

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. Psalms 19:1 NLT

It first starts with the acceptance of the story of creation. Which account do you hold on to: the big bang; the evolution theory or the account as put down by God through His Word? Your actions and reactions will show which one you believe. Let it be clear that even though there are so many things in creation I do not understand, I believe God's account of creation because there are things down here that science has not been able to properly explain.

We see the sky and its varying degrees; we see the elements positioned all across the skyline, as far as our eyes can see. There are other parts hidden from our physical eyes, which technology and advancement in science has helped reveal. There are parts unknown under the sea, hidden from view but testifying to the greatness of the Creator. There are several other parts of the earth we can even see, like the sun, which no one has yet dared to land on. No wonder the Psalmist here could see the testimony of creation about the might, power, wisdom and greatness of God.

Everything you see down here reflects the glory of the One who made it. The great masterpieces we see today are called by the name of the person who painted or created them, and it is the same principle here. The earth belongs to God: He has made it the way He desires, and all He has made gives Him praise. They speak of his glory. When you see the elements in action- the torrential rain, the howling whirlwind and tornadoes, the volcanic eruptions, you get the distinct sense that you are only privileged to walk the earth.

God has only given me the grace to be the centrepiece of His creation. I did not work for it; He only called me into it. I should live grateful and fearful, knowing it is only a privilege. I must live in daily gratitude to God for all He is and done. Would it not sound funny if it is his silent creation that gives him praise, while I, with all I have been given, remain silent and ungrateful? His time of favour is here.
