Right Fruits!

Right Fruits!

For you, brethren, were [indeed] called to freedom; only [do not let your] freedom be an incentive to your flesh and an opportunity or excuse [for selfishness], but through love you should serve one another.
Galatians 5:13 AMPC

First, this is addressed to brethren: people who share common faith. They may not see eye to eye on some issues, but they have submitted personal interests for the sake of one fundamental principle: which is to seek the glory of God in all they do. And that is the essence of the call of God upon our lives: He calls us into a personal experience of Him. It is not first about people, but about Him. When I have known him, then my life can impact other people. When I do not know Him, it doesn't matter how well I am liked or loved; it will not last.

So, I am called into freedom, where I am set free from the shackles of religion and thrust into the joy of impact. However, freedom in Christ isn't absolute, where you are not accountable to anyone. This freedom is one where nothing stops me from expressing the joy I have received from my connection with Christ. People who relate with me see the imprint of my daily walk with God. They know I have been in the presence of God, and it is evident from how I speak, walk and impact. You can never hide the impact of God on your life; otherwise you have to be a good pretender.

And that's the warning: in the midst of all these activities, I must be careful about giving power to the flesh. Pride, a sense of self-sufficiency and self-importance slip in and mess things up. At no time should I let what I do or know become more important than who I serve. When I am tempted to think I cannot be replaced, I must remember that the call wasn't at my own instance, but God's, and if He wants, He can always call another into the same field of impact. I keep the connection to God secure, so that I do not give room to the devil. His time of favour is here.
